Democracy, Common Law and The Right to Trial By Jury

Slowly and systematically, the current government is looking for ways to reverse engineer what is considered the best judicial system in the world. Moreover, it provides a system where an individual, alleged to have committed a crime, can opt to have a trial by jury. To take this away will not only be a travesty, but it also takes away the individual rights under common law, a system of law that has survived for millennia and is now under threat from the current government. Society's members must not allow any government to undermine the right to a fair trial by taking this power away from democracy, where democracy is and must remain supreme and not be eroded.
